"Weddings are events you can't do over. Making sure you hire a photographer that's going to deliver is not only difficult, it's a must.”

"Your wedding day is a long wonderful day and you will spend many hours with your photographer(s). You' will be looking at and cherishing these photos for the rest of your life, so take your time choosing the right photographer for you! If photography is important to you, then the extra money you might spend to get someone who you thought was out of your league could be worth it to you in the long run. Lower prices don't always produce the best results, and in the case of most professional photographers, you do get what you pay for.

View their website, talk to them, meet with them in person. You want to make sure that you not only love their work, but that you want to see yourself in them. This is the only part of your wedding day that you'll have to remember it with for the rest of your life, choose carefully.

Consider an engagement photo session or bridal portrait session with your chosen photographer before the wedding. This will make you feel more comfortable with the photographer and how he/she works. You will get some great photos during the session AND your wedding photos will look more natural. Palm Tree Studios includes one of these sessions when you book your wedding with them. They feel this is important for both the couple and their photographers to get to know each other and learn personalities. By establishing this relationship prior to your wedding day, both sides can be confident that the essence of your wedding day shines through in your photographs for years to come.

Communicate often with your photographer before the wedding day. Make sure that your photographer understands the photos that are the most important to you and your family. It is helpful to write out a list for your photographer so they will know who the important family members are and who they should focus on when taking pictures throughout the day. Appoint someone, (usually the best man) to gather the individuals when needed and to help identify specific family members."
